Machinists

Location: Dayton-OH

Dayton Progress, a Dayton Lamina company, is the leading international manufacturer of tools and tooling components for the metal stamping and plastic molding industries.  We have immediate openings for entry level Machinists in Dayton, Ohio and Portland, Indiana.  The ideal candidate must have a HS Diploma/GED, pass a drug test, and be available to work any shift, weekends and overtime.

Training

No prior experience is necessary. We will train you, starting with the basics, in our classroom and on our factory floor.

Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Dayton-OH

Leading international manufacturer of tools and tooling components for the metal stamping and plastic molding industries has an opening for a degreed Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and improving manufacturing processes in a machining environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare capital expenditure requests, including financial justification and presentation to management
  • Implement capital equipment and facilities projects within budget and time constraints, including development of detailed project plans and schedules
  • Work with suppliers and internal resources to design and improve machining processes, both for existing product lines and for new product introductions
  • Design and coordinate fabrication of fixturing, gaging, and tooling for new and existing processes
  • Work with global company locations to share and adopt best-practice processes and methods, including transfer of turn-key processes
  • Provide technical support to ongoing production operations at Dayton, Ohio plant, as well as at other company locations as needed (processes include conventional and CNC turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and EDM)
  • Utilize lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts, including 5S, Standardized Work, and SMED to eliminate waste and reduce product cost
  • Direct and/or oversee cost reduction and product/process improvement projects as assigned
  • Analyze and process Engineering Change Requests / Notifications and employee suggestions
  • Take a hands-on approach to fulfilling job responsibilities – must be willing to problem solve in a production environment

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.S. Engineering degree in Mechanical, Industrial or similar discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in a machining environment, including direct experience leading implementation of new machinery
  • Direct experience with CNC machining equipment
  • AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or similar CAD/CAM experience is a required
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis is required
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to Asia for extended periods (total travel <25%)
  • Japanese language skills are a plus
  • Experience with Kaizen and other Continuous Improvement techniques is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • CNC machine programming experience is a plus

High Speed Precision Machinist

Location: Dayton-OH

We are seeking an experienced precision high speed surface grinder machinist. The successful candidate must possess the following qualities: Perform set-up and operation of all grinding capabilities to various tool steels, including but not limited to: flat grinding, complex intricate shape grinding, and low speed and high speed in a production environment; Must be able to work to close tolerances in the range of .0001" - .0002"; Ability to achieve fine finishes is a plus; Mechanically inclined and have experience reading blueprints along with moderate math (Geometry) skills; and be available to work 2nd shift (3:30pm - 12:00am).

Territory Sales Manager

Location: USA, West Coast

We are the world-wide industry leader in the production of catalog and special punches, die components, die details, punch blanks and metal stamping tools. Our full line of tooling includes everything in your bill of materials, punches, die buttons, pins & bushings, wear and guide components, die springs, cams, die details, punch retainers and more.

We are looking for a highly motivated Territory Sales Manager for the West Coast territory. The successful candidate must possess the following qualities: Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills; Detail oriented, a self-starter and positive team player; Ability to quickly create solutions for customers’ requirements and issues; Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. The ideal candidate should live in the Los Angeles area.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Efficiently services existing accounts and wins new accounts by planning organized work days
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of direct and distributor accounts
  • Responsible for customized sale presentations for customers at the customer’s requests
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports; such as daily call reports, weekly work planned and monthly and annual territory analysis.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current market information on pricing, products, new products, delivery, etc.
  • Maintains distributor, customer and market information utilizing the company CRM tools through timely updates to ensure management is aware of development in region.
  • Recommends changes in products, services and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional organizations
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records by customer contact information
  • Participate in trade shows as assigned

Sales Manager

Location: Dayton-OH

Reports to Director of Sales

Location: Dayton, Ohio

Travel: 70-80% within in region

Region: Mid-west primarily. Will manage 6-8 Territory Sales Representatives.

Position Summary

  • Lead the sales and marketing functions in meeting our growth and profitability goals.
  • Responsible for planning and managing all sales activities within a defined region.
  • Defines the sales plan and customer and commercial strategy.
  • Responsible for achievement of both quantitative and qualitative sales objectives.
  • Support and assist with the support of corporate agreements
  • Responsible for developing staff/key managers to increase the talent level for the company.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develops (with input from cross-functional teams) and deploys comprehensive customer strategies that improve the growth and profitability.
  • Articulates a clear understanding of our market share, competitive position, and profitability at each assigned account .
  • Deploys comprehensive pricing strategies which are market driven, based on value provided to the customer and competitive alternatives.
  • Develops and deploys the customer interface strategy (points of contact, frequency) and builds strong rapport with key decision makers, developing sponsors at our key accounts.
  • Develops proactive Target Account plans, tracking and recording progress toward sales objectives.
  • Takes ownership of total customer satisfaction, monitoring our performance on key supplier metrics and pursuing corrective action plans as appropriate.
  • Develops sales forecasts for use in annual planning and monitors market trends throughout the year for use in monthly forecast adjustments.
  • Decides best method to go to market to best serve customer's needs and meet company objectives.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing
  • Master's degree helpful but not required
  • 4 years minimum sales management experience
  • Experience managing distribution
  • Metal Stamping/Pierce tooling experience highly desirable

Computer Systems Engineer

Location: Dayton-OH

Reports to: Infrastructure Manager

Based at: Dayton, OH facility

Job Purpose

Establishes and maintains the enterprise’s needs for computer hardware, software and networking. Develop, test, install, and configure new or existing computer and networking methods.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation
  • Infrastructure defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Maximizes infrastructure performance by monitoring performance.
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure problems and outages; scheduling upgrades.
  • Collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network services, hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  • Cisco Phone system maintenance and support
  • Monitor network usages by employees and devices
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, firewall protection.
  • Coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience.
  • Assist the system admin, help desk staff in problems that are beyond their scope or skill set.
  • Analyzing and resolving faults from a system down

Recommended Hardware/Software Skills

  • Cisco ASA’s, wireless controllers, wireless access points, routers, and switches
  • Cisco VOIP systems (Call Manager, Jabber, other Cisco voice components)
  • Dell Enterprise Servers and SANs (DRAC, Boot from SAN)
  • Windows, Linux, and Novell Servers
  • Windows and Exchange Powershell
  • Virtual Systems: VMWare and Hyper-v

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Enterprise products (Windows Server, SQL, and Exchange)
  • Deep understanding of VMware (vSphere, network virtualization, and storage virtualization)
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (DMVPN, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related subject (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • Ability to obtain a Valid Passport when needed
